This vintage original WWI poster was created by the artist William Crawford Young for the United States Food Administration. The poster features a cartoonish image of a portly cigar smoking businessman with plates of food on a table in front of him as a concerned looking waiter gives him a sideways glance. The text reads – Sir, don’t waste while your wife saves Adopt the doctrine of the clean plate – do your share. The lower right hand corner indicates the printer as The W.F. Powers Co. Litho., N.Y. and the United States Food Administration appears in the upper left hand corner.

This vintage original WWI era poster shows modest toning from age and moderate handling wear including some slight creasing, bumped edges and couple small chips and short tears on the edges. Overall condition is very good.
