This original antique poster was issued by the American Red Cross in 1919.  This poster was intended to boost membership in the American Red Cross by reminding the viewer of the benefits delivered to society through Red Cross First Aid training programs.  The poster features three photographic images of people providing first aid with text that reads: 

RED CROSS FIRST AID – 1,000,000 people have learned the right way – the Red Cross way – of cheating death from accidents.   Your membership helps save human life.  

This antique original poster is free of tape or pinholes and shows moderate handling including a small notch off the margin on the left side near the top corner.  The poster has a light crease on the upper right side and a couple short tears on the edges have been stabilized by the application of small pieces of easily removed acid free archival repair tissue applied on the back of the poster.  There is a brief pencil notation and a small spot from a label that was removed from the back of the poster which barely show on the front side.  Overall condition is very good.
