This vintage original WWII poster was issued in May 1942 and is very similar to another poster created by Canadian born artist Steve Broder and issued as OWI Poster No. 19 in 1942. The poster features an image of the Statue of Liberty next to the flags of the United States and 25 of her allies under the simple headline The United Nations Fight For Freedom. The lower lefthand corner is printed “May 1, 1942” so thus the date.
This vintage original poster is folded as issued and shows light handling wear and moderate toning from age. The poster has a pinhole at the top center and near each of the upper corners and short tear of about an inch on the lower edge without any loss of paper. The displays nicely and overall condition is very good.
