This poster titled “How a Car Is Assembled” was designed by artist Antonio Petruccelli for the 1953 book “Ford at Fifty”. Petruccelli’s design was then reissued in poster form as offered here around the same time. This large poster utilizes as Modernist design to illustrate the beehive of activity that was the modern Ford assembly plant of the early 1950s. Petruccelli did the covers for 28 issues of Fortune magazine in the 1930s and 1940s as well as covers for other magazines and commercial illustrations during his long career.
