This is a vintage original poster was issued to promote a 1966 exhibit of artwork by Victory Vasarely at the prominent New York City Sidney Janis Gallery. The Hungarian-French artist Vasarely was considered an important and influential pioneering figure in the Op Art movement. This poster for his January 1966 exhibit appears shortly after the term “Op Art” was coined in an Time magazine article written by the art critic Donald Judd.
This poster is a vintage original from the January 1966 exhibit. The poster is slightly bumped on the edges in places and shows light to moderate handling wear. Overall condition is very good.
