This vintage original 1972 poster is one of the first to be issued by the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA was established by Presidency of Richard Nixon and began operations in December of 1970. This poster has a 1972 copyright by the USGPO printed in the lower margin dating to the early days of that agency which were characterized by an enormous sense of purpose and excitement. This poster features a view of a church in a field of sunflowers with the caption:

Achieving the goal of a clean and health environment must be done by all us all - by every American. We can reach this goal in this decade. And in reaching it we can trigger a chain reaction of confidence and hope that will help us to achieve all of our great goals for the seventies.

This poster shows light toning from age and modest handling wear. Overall condition is very good.
