This vintage original New York Subway Guide was designed by Massimo Vignelli and issued by the New York City Transit Authority in 1974. A large map showing the entire system including outer boroughs is printed on one side with another map showing the New York City subway system in Manhattan and part of Brooklyn printed on the other side.

Vignelli’s map of the New York City subway, first released in 1972, was considered a masterpiece of Modernist information design. This 1974 edition is one of the last to use Vignelli’s original design as an entirely new design was introduced the following year.

This vintage original folding pocket map is fully complete and intact with light handling wear and a faint spot on the cover panel not affecting the maps on either side. Overall condition is very good.
