This vintage original poster celebrating New York City was created by the Philadelphia born watercolorist and graphic designer Frank Nofer in 1975. Nofer did similar posters for other America cities and produced artwork for the national bicentennial celebrations in 1976 among his other professional undertakings. In Nofer’s playful design offered here various symbols and icons associated with the Gotham City such as the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and United Nations logo are stylized to form the letters in New York City. The lower right hand corner is printed with a 1975 copyright by Designer Frank Nofer, Inc.
This vintage original poster is unrestored and has a tear of about an inch and half without loss on bottom edge near the lower left hand corner and another short tear without loss of about an inch on the top edge. The poster shows slight toning from age and moderate handling wear including slightly bumped edges in spots. The poster displays nicely as is and basic linen backing could restore this one to top condition. Overall condition is very good.
