This is a vintage original poster for the 1981 exhibition at the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building in Washington D.C. titled By the People, For the People – Lincoln in Graphic Art, 1860-1865 – An exhibition of prints from the Louis A. Warren Lincoln Library and Museum.
This exhibition was held from February 5 to March 31, 1981 at the Rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building in Washington, D.C. Cannon House is a federal office building used by the United States Congress. The Louis A. Warren Lincoln Library and Museum was established in 1928 by Arthur Hall and others associated with the the Lincoln National Life Insurance Company of Fort Wayne, Indiana with the Lincoln scholar Louis A. Warren named as curator and remains today as one of the finest and most important collections of Lincolniana.
This vintage original poster advertising the exhibition shows moderate handling wear and a bit of light foxing at the top edge and on the back of the poster in places. The poster is free or tape or pinholes and has a bit of light creasing at the top edge. Some of the lettering at the top of the poster appears to have hand coloring. Overall condition is very good.
