This vintage original point of sale cardboard advertising sign for Colonial Bread was issued in the mid 1930s. This sign features a festive Christmas themed scene with Santa Claus and his bag full of toys with text that reads An Old Favorite – Colonial is Good Bread.
This sign is not dated but came with others dated 1935 to 1937 and looks to be from around that same time period. The artist doesn’t sign the artwork but this came with other Colonial Bread signs done by Clarence Cole and might also be done by Cole. This vintage original sign shows moderate handling wear including a couple slight scuffs in the image area and light bumping to the edges in places. This sign shows a bit of foxing most evident on verso. Overall condition is very good for this vintage original. Please see my other listings for more vintage Colonial Bread signs from this series.
