This vintage original point of sale cardboard advertising sign for Colonial Bread was created by the artist Clarence Cole and issued in the mid 1930s. For this sign Cole renders a festive holiday season image of a man struggling to carry of a large number of giftwrapped packages with a Christmas tree lying in the snow behind him and text that reads Loaded with good things…Colonial is good Bread.
Clarence Cole’s name is signed in print in the lower right corner of the image. This vintage original sign shows moderate handling wear including a couple slight scuffs in the image area and light bumping to the edges in places. This sign shows a bit of light dust staining and some foxing in places. Overall condition is very good for this vintage original.
