This vintage original point of sale cardboard advertising sign for Colonial Bread was issued in the mid 1930s. This sign features an image of a young boy dressed as a policeman blowing on a whistle with hand raised as if directing traffic with text that reads Policemen know…Colonial is Good Bread.
This sign is not dated but came with others dated 1935 and 1937 and looks to be from around that same time period. The artist’s name, Clarence Cole, is signed in print in the lower left corner of the image area. This vintage original sign shows light handling wear and some foxing most evident on verso. Overall condition is very good for this vintage original. Please see my other listings for more vintage Colonial Bread signs from this series.
