This delightful poster was issued by the French government to help promote export of the country’s splendid cheeses. Sixty different French cheeses are arranged to form a map of France with each of the cheeses numbered and identified by name. The famous quote by Charles de Gaulle comes to mind - How can anyone govern a nation that has two hundred and forty-six different kinds of cheese?

This vintage original poster isn’t dated but was likely issued in the early to mid 1970s. A photo credit to “Cohen” is printed in the lower right hand corner. This poster has a short tear without loss of about two inches on the top edge and pinholes on the corners. The poster shows moderate handling wear including slightly bumped edges, a crease to the lower right hand corner and slight creasing in the image area in places. The poster displays nicely and overall condition is very good.
