This vintage original poster was issued by the United Farm Worker’s in support of a national boycott of non-union produced California grapes that began in July 1984. The United Farm Workers were led by Cesar Chavez who sought economic justice for farm workers as part of the larger Civil Rights struggle. For this poster barrels of chemicals appear in a large bunch of grapes above a photographic image of a UFW rally with text that reads:
The Wrath Of Grapes – Join The Boycott…Again!
The “Again” is a reference to the earlier grape boycotts which began with the 1965 Delano Grape Strike and continued in various forms until 1978.
This vintage original poster has moderate handling wear including some buckling or creasing to the paper at the top edge. The poster is has no pinholes or tape and is otherwise in very good condition overall.
