This large dramatic poster was produced in 1918 by the artist Howard Giles for the United States Shipping Board Emergency Fleet Corporation. The stirring image shows American Doughboys in a bayonet charge against the fiery tumult of battle with the bold tag line NOTHING STOPS THESE MEN, LET NOTHING STOP YOU. Old Glory is seen billowing in the wind high atop the chaotic scene. Donating half your paycheck to buy war bonds seems like a small price to pay compared to the hellish war these men must endure for the cause of freedom. This poster is unrestored and has not been backed to linen but is in very good condition overall. The poster was folded originally and has some archival tape repair to the verso including some repair to separation along the center fold line and some repair to the upper right hand corner. There is a small bit of paper loss along the edge near the lower right hand corner which is confined to a small area on the outer margin not affecting the artwork. The colors are vibrant the poster displays very nicely as is or could be linen backed if you wish to do so.
