This vintage original poster was created by the prolific American illustrator McClelland Barclay for the US Navy and issued in 1941 to help recruit cadets for naval aviation. Barclay renders an idealized image of a confident looking naval aviator climbing into the cockpit of an airplane on a carrier deck with his resolute binocular holding officer nearby. These were the kind of men needed to serve in naval aviation. The poster’s text reads:

This vintage original poster has no tape or pinholes and was probably never hung up or used used. The poster shows light handling wear and is lightly creased laterally across the bottom. The colors remain strong and overall condition is very good.
