This poster was issued shortly after the United States entered WWII and targets women as recruits for the United States Marine Corps. A woman marine with resolute gaze holds a clipboard and stands next to an airplane above the tag line “Be A Marine, Free A Marine To Fight”. More than 20,000 women served in the Marine Corps in more than 200 different specialties during World War II but it was not until 1948 that the Women's Armed Services Integration Act gave women permanent status in the United States Marines Corps. The lower margin indicates “McCandlish Litho Corporation, Phila., PA”.

This vintage original poster is folded as issued and shows light handling wear and a small almost invisible trace of tape staining on the tip of each corner.  This vintage original WWII poster shows nice color and displays very well.  Overall condition is very good.
