This vintage original WWII poster was created by the noted American illustrator Lawrence Beall Smith and issued in 1942. A group of three young children playing innocently with their toys on what looks like a summer day are interrupted by the sudden emergence of a large ominous shadow in the shape of a Nazi swastika. The poster’s tagline Don’t Let That Shadow Touch Them remind the viewer what’s at stake and adds urgency to the message Buy WAR BONDS.
This poster has no tape or pinholes and doesn’t appear to have ever been used. The poster has about a half inch of separation on the vertical fold line at the top center edge and is otherwise near mint with rich color. This poster ships folded as issued.
