This vintage original poster was issued during the early days of WWII to help bolster recruiting for the United States Navy. This poster features images of a U.S. Navy ship accompanied by airplanes over an image of the world wrapped in steel chains with text that reads Join The Navy – and see free the World. The artist’s name appears signed in the lower righthand corner of the image area as M. Privitello U.S.N.R. The lower margin is printed with a document code that indicating a 1942 production date.

This vintage original poster is free or tape or pinholes and was probably never hung up or used. The poster shows light handling wear with the edges slightly bumped and slight creasing in places. There is a short tear of less than inch without loss of paper on the left edge in the margin not affecting the image area.  The colors retain their original vibrancy and overall condition is very good.
