This vintage original WWII poster, an excellent example of the “loose lips sink ships” genre, was created by prolific poster artist Adolf Treidler and issued by the British and American Ambulance Corps in 1942. Treidler renders an image of an American soldier behind barbwire and under armed guard by German captors. The title Loose Talk Can Cause This suggests that this unfortunate situation was created by someone on the home front who talked too much and disclosed vital wartime information that benefited the enemy.

Adolf Treidler had a long career producing posters for both the First and Second World Wars as well as for clients including Pan American Airways, Irish Airlines, Furness Bermuda Lines, Wells Fargo and others.

This vintage original poster shows light handling wear including a slight lateral crease at the center and a small nick off the tip of the upper right hand corner. The poster retains strong color and displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good.
