This vintage original poster was created by the prolific American illustrator McClelland Barclay for the US Navy and issued in 1942 to help promote recruiting for the United States Navy. Barclay renders an image of a strapping US Navy sailor and his comrades wrestling a heavy depth charge into position with a choppy sea in the background over text that reads:

“Sub Spotted” LET ‘EM HAVE IT! Lend A Hand – Enlist in your Navy today

McClelland Barclay’s signature appears in print on the left side of the image. This vintage original poster is unrestored and has a small bit of paper loss on the margin at upper left hand corner not affecting the image area.   The poster also has a light diagonal crease in the upper margin on the right side and slight crease along the bottom edge neither of which affect the image area.   The poster is free of tape or pinholes, retains strong color and otherwise looks unused.   Overall condition is very good.
