This poster was issued shortly after the United States entered WWII to advertise the government’s urgent need to recover scrap metal materials. Community-minded patriotic Americans got behind the scrap drives in a big way and recovered millions of pounds of scrap which was converted to essential war materiel. Scrap drives had the added benefit of buoying moral on the home front and giving every day Americans a tangible way to get directly involved in supporting the war effort. This poster was issued by the War Production Board Bureau of Conservation.  There is a signature of the artist that looks like "Zudor" signed in print in the upper right side of the image area. The lower margin indicates a 1942 production date.

This poster has been professionally conservation mounted to linen with some minor expert touchup as needed including mitigation to some slight creasing on the fold lines.  The poster has a bit of light scattered foxing in places.  The original colors are well retained and overall condition is very good for this WWII era vintage original.
