This is vintage original poster was issued by the Office of War Information in 1943 as OWI Poster No. 27. With a third of American doctors working overseas in support of the war effort shortages emerged on the home front so a campaign was needed to encourage Americans to adapt and learn basic medical and caregiving skills. This poster has the Civil Defense and Red Cross emblems and text that reads:

Doctors Are Scarce - One out of three has gone to war – Be Prepared for minor injury for minor illness – Learn First Aid & Home Nursing

This poster is folded as issued and doesn’t look it was ever used. The poster shows only light handling wear and a minor trace of “ghosting” from the red on the poster to the white field at the bottom center along the fold line. Overall condition is very good.  This poster is folded as issued and ships folded.
