This vintage original and rare WWII poster was created by the artist Rauschert J. Karl to help boost morale and productivity in the lumber and forest products industries that provided essential war materiel. Burly American soldiers wrestle wooden crates into a ship’s cargo carrier sling as landing craft navigate exploding enemy shells and advance toward a distance shore. The artist’s name “J. Karl” is signed in the lower left and corner of the image and the lower margin indicates a 1943 publication date and a U.S. GPO imprint. The US Army insignia appears in the lower right-hand corner of the poster. This rare poster is very hard to find as its release was limited to lumber producing areas and the forest products industry.
This vintage original poster has been professionally linen backed and minor defects expertly addressed to create a truly striking and rare piece. Overall condition is very good.
