This vintage original WWII era poster featuring the artwork of noted Belgian American illustrator Georges Schreiber was issued in 1943 to promote the sale of war bonds. A scrambling American fighter pilot looks resolutely to the sky as he prepares to step into his aircraft the side of which is festooned with the victory markings celebrating his kills and signaling this is not his first rodeo. The tag line Keep Him Flying! adds emphasis to the poster’s plea BUY WAR BONDS.
This vintage original poster in the full one sheet size has been professionally linen backed with some expert touchup to small defects including pinholes on the corners, short tears on the edges and minor creasing in spots. Small amounts of paper loss in the margin on the corners have been skillfully repaired as have small notches at the center right and left margins and at the top center margin. The poster shows some toning from age but retains strong color as issued. Overall condition is very good, contact us for more information as needed.
