This vintage original and very rare WWII poster was issued to support the 1943 Schools-At-War Jeep Campaign which also included raising funds to purchase Piper Cub L-4 Grasshopper aircraft which was also known as “The Flying Jeep”. This poster indicates each Piper Cub L-4 Grasshopper costs $3,000 and urges Americans on the home front to urgently purchase war bonds and war savings stamps to help finance these aircraft. The Schools-At-War campaign was a huge success for the American war effort which saw a sales force of millions of school age kids raise billions of dollars mostly through the sale of war savings stamps which could be purchased with small amounts of spare change. The idea of raising funds for specific types of equipment like Jeeps and Piper Cub L-4 Grasshopper “Flying Jeeps” helped to galvanize the efforts of millions of American school age kids.
This vintage original poster shows just light handling wear and modest toning from age. The poster was issued folded. Overall condition is very good.
