This vintage original WWII poster was created by the artist Lawrence Wilbur to help promote the sale of war bonds through workplace employee payroll deductions programs. This poster could be put up in the workplace to track the number of employees participating and the funds raised towards the goal. Wilbur quotes Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and depicts an image of American soldiers in the heat of battle. The lower margin indicates “D’Arcy Printing & Lithographing Corp., New York, N.Y.” and “11-29-43” which we take to indicate a 1943 publication date.
This vintage original poster was folded once at the center and doesn’t look like it was ever used. Overall condition is excellent.
