This is a group of ten different vintage original WWII U.S. Navy Recognition Test posters created by artist and graphic designer Irving Miller. These posters feature photomontage and other graphic design elements associated with 20th century Modernism to create a striking Avant Garde group. Each poster features silhouettes of similar looking aircraft together with images of soldiers, ships, military vehicles and equipment along with a single cryptic clue as to the identity of the aircraft. A small flap is attached to each poster which can be lifted to reveal the identities of the aircraft on the poster. This group includes Recognition Test Number 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12 13, 15, 17 and 18 out of the total of 18 originally issued by the Training Division of the U.S. Navy Bureau of Naval Personnel.
These vintage original and rare WWII Recognition Test posters are in very good condition overall with all having the original answer flaps still attached. There are a couple minor scattered spots and lightly bumped corner or two and light handling wear. Overall condition is very good.
