This vintage original and rare poster was issued by the United States government during WWII to help promote the sale of War Bonds to non-English speaking Americans and prospective Americans. This same poster design was issued in a variety of different languages with the version here being the German language edition. The German language text Für eine glücklichere Welt translates to “For A Happier World” in English. The image of the Statue of Liberty would no doubt resonate with the non-English speaking audience, many of which would recall her holding her lamp high beside the golden door as the first memory of their arrival on America shores.
This vintage original poster is folded as issued and has no tape or pinholes and just light handling wear. The poster has about a half inch of separation on one of the lateral fold lines at the right edge and short quarter inch tears in the margin on the right and left edge and otherwise looks unused. The poster retains strong color and displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good.
