This vintage original and rare poster was issued by the United States government during WWII to help promote the sale of War Bonds to non-English speaking Americans and prospective Americans. This same poster design was issued in a variety of different languages with the version here being the Greek language edition. The Greek language text Για καλύτερες μέρες translates to “For Better Days”. The image of the Statue of Liberty would no doubt resonate with the non-English speaking audience, many of which would recall her holding her lamp high at the golden door as the first memory of their arrival on America shores.

This vintage original poster is folded as issued with moderate handling wear including slight separation on the fold lines at the edges. The original owner made a wax pencil notation on the verso which does not show on the front of the poster. There is a small VFW hand ink stamp near the right edge on the front of the poster. The poster has no tape or pinholes, retains strong color and displays beautifully. Overall condition is very good.
