This vintage original WWII poster was issued in 1944. The distressing image of an American Marine in the Pacific struck in the face by an enemy bullet is highly effective in conveying the potential consequences of loose talk on the home front. The poster’s tag line, Careless Talk Got There First, is impactful and easily understood.
This poster is folded as issued and in very good condition overall with just light handling wear and modest toning from age and a brief notation on verso. There are two short quarter inch tears on the bottom edge without paper loss which are pretty much invisible when the poster is laid flat and the poster otherwise looks unused and almost like new. Overall condition is very good.
