This elaborate pictorial map depicting events of WWII was created by English born Canadian cartographer Stanley Turner. Turner created several of these maps for the Globe and Mail newspaper in Toronto and then licensed the maps to the C.C. Peterson advertising agency for distribution in the United States where they were typically overprinted and distributed as advertising novelties.
This map is printed 20th Edition in the lower margin and overprinted with the business name of O.D. Ludwick & Sons Bakery of Springfield, Ohio. This map is incredibly detailed with war events indicated all the way to August 1944 so we date this 20th edition to 1944. Stanely Turner’s name appears in printed in the lower righthand corner of the image area and the lower margin is printed with 1942 copyright by C.C. Peterson of Toronto.
This vintage original map is folded as issued and in almost like new condition with just slight handling and modest toning from age. Overall condition is excellent. Please see our other listings for other editions of Stanley Turner’s Dated Events War Maps.
