This poster created by Lyman Simpson was issued in 1944 by the United States Treasury Department to promote the idea of giving War Bonds as Christmas gifts during WWII. This is the largest format for this poster measuring about 38” x 28.5”. Festive Christmas holly and bells appear next to the Liberty Bell helping to convey the poster’s message – For Liberty and Peace on Each Give WAR BONDS. The bottom of the poster is printed “Official U.S. Treasury Poster” and indicates the publication date as 1944.

This vintage original large format WWII poster doesn’t look to have ever been used and shows modest toning from age and light handling wear including a short tear of about an inch without loss of paper on the left edge. The poster was issued folded and ships that way. Overall condition is very good.
