This poster created by Lyman Simpson was issued in 1944 by the United States Treasury Department to promote the idea of giving War Bonds as Christmas gifts during WWII. Festive Christmas holly and bells appear next to the Liberty Bell helping to convey the poster’s message – For Liberty and Peace on Each Give WAR BONDS. The bottom of the poster is printed “Official U.S. Treasury Poster” and indicates the publication date as 1944. This vintage original small format WWII poster shows modest toning from age and light handling wear and has a single staple hole near each corner. The poster was issued folded once laterally across the center and ships that way. Overall condition is very good.
