This rare original Official United States Navy poster was issued in 1944 to remind Americans on the home front of the sacrifices and hardships facing those serving in the distant war zones. A montage of unsettling photos showing the aftermath of the SS President Coolidge striking and mine, American war dead at Tawara, a wounded aerial gunner being pulled from an aircraft and a sailor with bloodied face and heavily bandaged hands drives home the message that the war is far from over. The tagline “No Matter How You Lock At It…Victory Comes High!” emphasizes the need for every American to do their utmost to support the war effort.

This poster is the full one sheet size showing moderate handling wear and some toning from age. The poster has a small amount of paper loss and creasing along the bottom edge and a faint, almost invisible, trace of staining on the left edge. Overall condition is otherwise good. This poster ships folded.
