This is a vintage original WWII cardboard standee sign poster created by prolific illustrator and portrait artist Cecil Calvert Beall. This poster is one in a series that Beall did for Collier’s magazine each featuring a different medal issued by the United States Armed Forces. This particular image graced the cover of the January 29, 1944 issue of Collier’s Weekly magazine and features Captain Richard Lewis Harris and the Army Distinguished Service Cross he earned for action at Mateur in North Africa. The lower margin is printed Carey Press Corp. and “5-25-44”.
This is a cardboard sign poster with easel arm on the back that was design for use as a counter display sign. Overall condition is very good with bold color and light handling wear.
