This vintage original WWII era poster featuring the artwork and design of Vic Guinnell was issued by the United States Treasury Department in 1944 to promote the sale of war bonds. This is the hard to find full size one sheet format of this poster measuring 40” x 28.5”.
A muscular soldier, biceps bulging through ragged battle torn shirt sleeves, literally wraps himself in Old Glory above the poster’s tagline “To Have And To Hold”. The words WAR BONDS appear in block capitals at the bottom of the poster. It is hard to find a more patriotic image than the one rendered by Guinnell for this wonderful poster.
This poster is a vintage original issued in 1944. This poster is folded as issued and doesn’t look like it was ever used. This poster is in excellent condition with just light handling wear and modest toning from age.
