This vintage original WWII poster created by the artist Saul Tepper was issued by the Office of War Information in 1944. This poster is one of many in the “loose lips sink ships” category issued during WWII that sought to make Americans aware of the dangers of discussing wartime activities and sharing unnecessarily information useful to the enemy. Tepper’s unsettling image depicts the consequences of such indiscretion. A battle weary soldier uses the fireman’s carry to evacuate a wounded comrade as fire and smoke fill a hellish and apocalyptic battle sky.
This vintage original poster is unused and folded as it was issued in excellent, near mint condition with just the slightest of toning from age and a brief notation on verso. Overall condition is excellent.
