This vintage original WWII poster was created by the artist George Kanelous and issued by the United States Treasury to promote the sale of Victory Bonds in 1945. This poster features a large American flag billowing in the wind over a tidy farmstead with the large block capital title MAKE VICTORY SECURE BUY VICTORY BONDS. Victory Bonds were the eighth and last of the WWII era American war bond drives. George Kanelous was a Greek American born in Uruguay who also painted murals and had an association with President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal era WPA program.
This vintage original poster is folded as issued and in very good condition with no tape or pinholes and only light handling wear and a bit of creasing in the image area. It doesn’t appear this poster was ever hung up or used. Overall condition is excellent.
