This powerful poster was created for the Greek War Relief Association USA, Inc. shortly after the end of WWII by the artist Lewis C. Daniel. Stark images of war ravaged Greek children begging for help are superimposed over the figure of a muscular discus thrower of Ancient Greece adding emphasis to the poster’s tag line – RENEW OUR STRENGTH. Lewis’s design captures the desperate situation and urgent need for help following years of total war but also aptly captures Greece’s rich history and proud Olympic heritage. This poster has been professionally linen backed with all needed restoration and touch up completed include repair to two small puncture holes at the edge. This vintage original poster is in very good condition and displays beautifully.
