This vintage original and rare WWII poster was issued by the Los Angeles Area War Chest which was a non-governmental civic organization established in 1943 and dedicated to raising money for the war effort. A battle haggard American soldier holds a Thompson Submachine Gun with a hellish war scene filling the background behind him and text that reads What Is The Debt We Owe Them? The top of the poster is printed “A triple gift for a triple Need – Four Our Boys – Our Allies – Our Homes”. The lower margin is printed “Los Angeles War Chest”. The artist’s name Maurice Archbold Jr. appears in the lower right hand corner of the image.

This vintage original poster has pinholes on the corners and light handling wear. The poster was issued folded once laterally across the center. Overall condition is very good.
