This is a vintage original 1950s era window card style poster issued to recruit candidates for the United States Navy Officer Candidate School . This poster is one of several created by the artist William Blasingame for the United States Navy and uses the tagline “Executive Future” to highlight the value of OCS skills to a career advancement either with the Navy or in civilian life. A sharp looking young man passes a written message to an underling as naval personnel work diligently behind him on what looks like a bedroom sized 1950s mainframe computer. Blasingame’s name appears signed in the lower left hand corner of the image.
This poster isn’t dated but is a vintage original from the mid 1950s. This poster is printed on cardboard and has an easel arm on the back so that it could be propped up and used as a counter sign. The lower margin is printed “Zabel Bros. Co., Inc.” This poster has some foxing most notably toward the upper right hand corner along with a narrow hand of dust staining along the lower edge and the left edge. The poster shows some light handing wear and short slight crease on the right edge. A small light trace of staining appears on the upper right and upper left corners. The poster retains strong color and overall condition is very good.
