This vintage original Cold War era U.S. Army recruiting poster is not signed but was probably created by the U.S. Army artist Gilbert Gordon Early who created a few similar posters issued in the 1950s to help promote reenlistment. This poster features a U.S. Army Signal Corps camera with 100-inch lens and radar as two examples of advanced high-tech equipment developed by the military. The poster also touts the United States Armed Forces Institute (USAFI) which operated between 1942 and 1974 to provide educational opportunities for those serving in the military. The tag line for the poster printed across the bottom reads: Men “in The Know”…RE-Up! Army.
This vintage original poster is free of tape and pinholes and shows moderate handling wear including some light bumping to the edges in spots. The poster is clean, the colors remain bright and overall condition is very good.
