This vintage original Cold War era U.S. Army recruiting poster was created by the US Army artist Gilbert Gordon Early and issued in the 1950s to help promote reenlistment. For this poster Early renders an image of a U.S. Army Sikorsky H-34 helicopter delivering what looks like a MGR-3 Little John artillery rocket system. The poster isn’t dated but the Little John artillery rocket system was developed in the 1950s and entered service in 1961 so would date this poster to the 1950s or early 1960s. Text across the top of the poster reads:
CHOOSE ADVENTURE – REENLIST ARMY – details? See your career counselor
This vintage original unrestored poster shows moderate handling wear and has some bumping and short tears in the margin along the left edge which don’t affect the image area. The poster has diagonal crease to the upper righthand corner and a light trace of staining to the margin on the tip of the lower righthand corner which doesn’t affect the image area. The colors remain bright and overall condition is very good.
