This vintage original poster was created by the noted illustrator and artist McClelland Barclay and issued by the U.S. Navy in 1942. For this recruiting poster Barclay renders an image of a US Navy sailor manning a deck gun above the title Let’s Hit ‘Em With Everything We’ve Got! Don’t Wait – Choose The Navy. The artist signs his name in the image as McClelland Barclay USNR. The lower margin indicates this poster was printed by Lutz and Sheinkman with the date 8-25-42 also shown.
This vintage original WWII poster has been professionally linen backed with expert touch as needed to a number of small creases in the image area. The poster shows some lateral creasing across the poster just above the title and a small half inch chip off the tip of the margin in the lower lefthand corner has been skillfully replaced. The colors remain strong and overall condition is very good.
