This vintage original WWI poster was created by the artist Dan Smith and issued by the United States Employment Service and Department of Labor in 1918. United States Marines are depicted charging forward into a hellish battle scene below a golden plaque that lists several major battles of WWI including Chateau Thierry, St. Mihiel, Argonne and others. This poster was issued at the end of the war primarily as an appeal to employers and business owners to consider hiring veterans that had served the country during WWI.
This vintage original poster has no tape or pinholes and doesn’t appear to have ever been hung or used. The poster shows modest toning from age and light handling wear. Overall condition is very good.
