This vintage original WWII poster was created by Nebraska born artist John Falter and issued by the United States government in 1942.  For this poster Falter renders an image of an American family and a priest literally backed up and cowering against a brick wall.  The shadow of a thuggish enemy brute raising a whip portends a possible dark future for humanity.  For the text across the top, The World Cannot Exist Half Slave And Half Free, Falter draws inspiration from Abraham Lincoln’s "House Divided" speech.   Text across the bottom drives home the poster’s message – Fight For Freedom!

This vintage original poster was issued folded and is in good condition overall with moderate handling wear, some wear on the fold lines and modest toning from age.   The poster has two tears on the bottom edge, one of about four inches and another of about two inches, but nothing is torn off or missing and both tears are easily fixed with with basic linen backing.  The poster has no tape or pinholes and displays nicely.  Overall condition is very good.
