This vintage original poster was issued by the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service in 1948 to increase public awareness and prevent forest fires. The poster’s image shows two farmers in a lush wheat field with one yelling for help and another, shovel in hand, running toward an rapidly approaching wildfire which engulfs the sky above them with smoke and fire. The poster’s tagline reads the Good Earth? Forest Fires Destroy lives, homes, wild life, timber, crops – Help Prevent Disaster.

The lower margin indicates and 1948 USGPO printing date and “U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service 49-CFFP-6”. This vintage original poster shows modest toning from age and light handling wear with edges slightly bumped in a couple spots. Overall condition is very good.
