This antique original WWI poster was created by the artist William Berdan King to garner support for the War Fund Week drive of 1917. A nurse holds up one end of an empty stretcher as a shell bursts behind her highlighting the risks faced by not only the soldiers but also the nurses and others that provided essential services. King’s name is signed in the lower right hand corner of the image and below that “Form N.Y. 18 Second War Fund” is printed in the lower margin.
This antique original poster has no tape or pinholes and doesn’t appear to have ever been hung up or used. The poster has a slight crease to the upper right hand corner and a short tear without loss on the lower edge of about two inches and two small half inch tears also without loss of paper. Overall condition is very good.
