This large antique original anatomical chart poster was issued by A.J. Nystrom & Co. Publishers of Chicago and has a 1918 copyright so thus the date. This chart is Plate No. 5 featuring two figure views of the Human Ear and three figure views of the Human Eye. The top of the chart is titled

AMERICAN FROHSE ANATOMICAL CHARTS- EDITED, REVISED AND AUGMENTED BY MAX BRODLE

Max Brödel was a German medical illustrator widely considered to be the “Father of Modern Medical Illustration” whose daughter Elizabeth Brödel also became a preeminent medical illustrator in the United States.

This chart is paper backed on the original fabric backing with the original wooden dowels still attached at the top and bottom. The chart shows moderate handling wear and has a small bit of chipping to the paper on the edge near the lower right hand corner. The chart is otherwise in very good condition with some toning from age, light scattered foxing in places and slight creasing in the image area.  The colors remain sharp and overall condition is very good.
